2026 HWC Scholarship Application

The Hilo Woman’s Club is offering several $1,000 scholarships to high school graduates or enrolled college students who are continuing their academic goals. The scholarship(s) will be awarded at the beginning of the school year, payable to the recipient through the college financial aid office.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Graduate of an East Hawai'i High School, public or private
Proven financial need with a FAFSA financial statement (Forms are available at the college financial aid office or online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid )
Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Entering or currently enrolled at the University of Hawai'i Hilo or Hawai'i Community College

This application must be completed and postmarked by February 21, 2026, to be considered by the Scholarship Committee. We request that each individual providing a recommendation letter to return it to the applicant in a sealed envelope for submission. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Use the following as your checklist of all submitting documents.

FAFSA FINANCIAL AID FORM
ONE RECOMMENDATION LETTER (In its own sealed envelope from an individual not at the applicant's school and not related to the applicant such as a minister, employer, club advisor, etc.)
ONE ACADEMIC RECOMMENDATION LETTER (in its own sealed envelope from either of the following: a high school or college principal, teacher or counselor.)
ONE PERSONAL LETTER (from the applicant stating your selected college course of study, career goals, financial need, and a brief description of any extra-curricular activities you may have participated in - not a list).
